Yosemite National Park – My Experience

Yosemite National Park

Being back at home I recently visited Yosemite National Park, as one of my friends suggested it to be a good place to enjoy and feel the nature up-close. Located in the State of California the park is visited by almost one million people each year and the numbers just keep on increasing with every year.

The place is known for its waterfalls, giant sequoia groves and granite cliffs and much more. Some very important places that you must visit in your trip are old bridge along Tenaya Creek, The Half dome and rainbow at Vernal Fall (one of my favorites). The valley floor is also a good place to spend time, it can be best utilized for reading, napping and playing games.

To really enjoy the park you will have to do a few things right like, avoid driving as it will save your time from parking and traffic problems as the place is best when you explore it on foot or bike (you can bring your own bikes or they are rented too ).

Another thing which made my visit go well was I avoided the crowded spots while experiencing the nature (such as hiking, camping, canoeing) there are many places, so don’t let yourself to follow other people where they have gathered.

One of the most important things to make your stay smooth is to plan your trip well in advance and book for everything, as the park is a tourist magnet and can get jam packed soon. For your stay you can opt for tent camping which is easily available and cheap too (options are also available in the form of tent cabins and motel rooms offering all the required amenities).

I know you will really love the walls of granite everywhere, the feeling of small. It is really a great place to be and make memories of, as the saying goes you cannot just see the Park you will have to smell and feel it to really experience it.

Best time to visit Yosemite

Though one can visit Yosemite anytime during the year, my experience with the local groups and guides suggest that you visit the place in summers. Although, summers are busiest in the park, it is good to visit and see all the sites. One more thing, if you like crowd and things happening around you, then visit the place between Memorial Day and labor day.

All said, do visit the place it is worth a shot, you will surely find it a place to calm your mind from hectic life of the modern world.
